About the Oakland Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center

The Oakland Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center is the business name of the private practice of Jacqueline B. Persons, Ph.D. It was established in December 2017.

The Oakland Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center has three missions: (1) to provide high quality evidence-based cognitive-behavior therapy to adults with depression and anxiety and related difficulties, (2) to provide clinical and research training to professionals and students, and (3) to conduct research.

At the Oakland CBT Center, we strive integrate research into the treatment and training we provide. We do this in two ways. First, we strive to provide treatment and training that is guided by the best available evidence from the scientific literature. Second, we collect data during treatment and training that is used both to monitor progress toward the patient’s and trainee’s goals and to contribute to science. To advance the research mission at the Oakland Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center, we ask patients and trainees to give written permission for the use of data collected during their treatment or training for research purposes. Research participation is completely optional; it is not a condition of receiving treatment or training at the Oakland CBT Center.
